SUBDIVISION SYSTEM CHANGE
In an effort to improve the accuracy of the data in the MLS we’ll be enacting a new change in the system in relationship to subdivision names.

CHOOSE SUBDIVISION FROM THE TABLE BY HITTING "F-1"
Subdivision will be a required field for input and it must be an EXACT MATCH to a list of available subdivisions names. Users may simply select the appropriate subdivision name by hitting the "F-1" key to pull up a list of available subdivision name to ensure a proper match.

WHAT IF IT’S NOT THERE?
If the subdivision name is not available from the list you must contact MLS staff to add the subdivision to the system. This is a process that takes only a few minutes. Once the subdivision name has been added you will be able to finish loading your listing into the system.

WHAT IF MY LISTING ISN’T IN A SUBDIVISION?
If your listing is not in a formal subdivision, or is a rural tract there is an option on the list called "RURAL TRACT (NO SUBD)" which should be entered. You may formally identify the property further by adding the legal description or information to REMARKS. This selection is NOT a substitute for entering the appropriate subdivision name. Doing so may be grounds for assessment of a fine or suspension of the service.

MODIFYING LISTINGS
Let’s suppose that you added a listing to the system before the subdivision change was made. After the subdivision change is made you try to modify that listing (price change, remarks, etc.) If the subdivision name originally entered on the listing does not match a subdivision name on the new table, the system will not take the changes unless the subdivision name is also changed to match the name on the new table.

WHEN WILL THE CHANGE OCCUR?
We are tentatively scheduled to upload the new tables to our vendor next week. The actual date that the change will occur depends on how long it will take the vendor to initiate those changes. We anticipate that the change will be activated soon. We’ll provide more information on the MLS system as we get a more definitive date.

HOW CAN I CHECK THE TABLE?
We have built our list of subdivision names from the old MLS table, from Stinson Map Company and from lists provided by Planning & Zoning from EBRP & Ascension Parishes. There may however, be some subdivision names that our missing from our list (particularly in the fast-growing Ascension & Livingston areas). While it will only take a few minutes to add them to the system after the change it will require a phone call to Board MLS Staff. Therefore, you may want to preview the list of subdivision names to see if there are subdivisions in which you have listings that are not on the list. This is a particularly good idea if you do a great deal of business in Ascension, Livingston, The Feliciana’s or other surrounding high-growth areas. You may preview or download the list in an Excel spreadsheet from the MLS Section of the board’s website at http://www.batonrougerealtors.com

Other recent changes to the MLS System:

· Exterior Feature "Drivit" (a brand-name) has been changed to "Synthetic Stucco."

· Amenities "Pool" has been changed to "Community Pool." If the listing has a pool on the premises please indicate by using the "Exterior Features" selection of "Pool"

· A new option "Ventless" has been added to the Fireplace features. This is for identifying gas-log or Santa-proof fireplaces that do not have a formal chimney.
