GBRAR LAUNCHES NEW WIRELESS AIRMLS  SERVICE

   The Greater Baton Rouge Association of REALTORS® has launched it’s new AirMLS Service, which allows members wireless access to information on thousands of area listings through either a cellular phone or wireless palm device.  

  With this service, agents can look-up and retrieve property information by address, MLS number, or by an open search on fields such as number of bedrooms, square footage, price range or MLS areas.  Each listing includes a property description, listing agent and office information and showing instructions.  Each listing also gives agents the ability to call the listing office or agent with the touch of a single button on their cell phone. 

 “AirMLS is a great tool for our members not because it’s ‘neat’ but because it fills a need,” said Ken Damann, Director of Information Technology for the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors.  “Realtors today spend most of their time working away from the office and the desktop computer.  AirMLS gives them access to critical information while out in the field where they spend the majority of their time.” 

Wireless technology has several advantages as users no longer have to download and update information to their palm-pilot computers.  In fact, they don’t have to have a palm-pilot at all.  Users can retrieve information over web-enabled cellular telephones.
